My Primary Treatment Goal
Your skull and the 24 bones of your spine house and protect your brain and your spinal cord. Your brain and spinal cord together are your Central Nervous System or CNS. This is responsible for controlling all of the functions of your body systems including: musculo-skeletal, hormonal, gastrointestinal, nervous, reproductive, lymphatic, respiratory, circulatory and cardiovascular. The CNS expresses itself through the peripheral nervous system or PNS via nerve roots that stem from both sides of each spinal segment. They continue all throughout your body, running back up into your head, and all the way to the tips of your fingers and toes and to your organs.
The Intervertebral foramen or IVF and are the small tunnels between two consecutive vertebrae that the nerve roots must travel through before continuing to the rest of the body. This is the primary area of concern with chiropractic care. Intersegmental dysfunction at different levels of the spine can cause pain, restriction and inflammation in this area, which can compromise the nerve roots, thus inhibiting the optimal function of your nervous system.
It is my primary goal to search for these restrictions throughout your spine and adjust them with a high velocity, low amplitude thrust with my hands to restore range of motion, decrease pain and inflammation, to allow your nervous system to express itself to a greater potential, so that natural healing may take place.
You may notice a difference in your symptoms right away and for others, it may take a few treatments. Immediate sensations reported from patients include: a sigh of relief, being able to breathe an easier and fuller breath, feeling lighter on your feet, more relaxed with decreased feelings of stress, a calming and soothing feeling, more energy, more global range of motion etc. All of these are wonderful immediate results but the beauty of chiropractic is in the bigger picture. Regular chiropractic adjustments have been shown to improve the immune system and prevent or stop the progression of disease and illness, and improve overall performance. Chiropractic works wonders as the primary treatment for a wide range of ailments by eliminating the need for more invasive procedures or prescriptions with potentially dangerous side effects. Be sure to schedule your next adjustment soon, as chiropractic works even better for prevention than it does for correction.
